Pines Party Outfit

Pines Party Outfit, originally uploaded by BillyNYC.

I had a recap about this past weekend with a friend of mine. I'm not sure I had the best time but I had a pretty fun weekend. The theme, Circus, brought out all kinds of creative interpretations. There is nothing like seeing a drunk rolling jungle cat at 4am. I felt like the actually party wasn't worth what they were charging for the tixs. The lights sucked and the music was all over of the map. However, there was a very cool aerial show and it was filled with hot guys. None of which I had the courage to say two words too. It was very clickish, like B Bar on Tuesday or maybe even G but with older guys. The house mates and I were no different. We only danced together, drank together and talked only to each other.

My Ex from Fire Island told me he was moving to Chicago in two months. That he has sold his apartment and was moving to have a "better quality of life". I'm not sure I get it. But then again, I'm not 50, nor have I been going to FI for the past 15 years. We had a good heart to heart on sunday night. Its the age thing and now looks like it will be the location thing. I can't help but be sad that I'm losing a really good friend but I wish him all the best.

My first and last pines party was 2002. It was my first intro to Fire Island Pines. Now 6 year later, I think this may be my second and final.

Best memory- drinking beer at high tea with the house mates or jogging on the beach

Worst memory - the damn jungle cat. It was just strange

Thoughts, pics and details of Fire Island coming soon. But until then, my current state of emotions

It will be weeks until I get all the glitter out of my...

My Ex from Fire Island and I are going to the pines party this weekend. No, I didn't pay $160 for the tix. Yes, it might be a mistake to go with him. But in the mean time here are some pics that inspired my outfit for this Saturday night.

Billy & Blake

Billy & Blake, originally uploaded by BillyNYC.

I'm a bit numb tonight as I write this posting. A part of my heart is on a plane back to Austin, TX right now. Amazing doesn't quite describe this past weekend. After not seeing or hearing from him for 5 years, we picked up as if no time had pasted between us. One would think that after sharing four wonderful days with him, we would somehow try to manage our futures together. But I know what our realities are - New York and Texas. And I would rather have 4 days of wonderful then 5 more years of nothing special.

I'll see u in November,

Please invent this: phone-breathalyer

There should be a feature on your phone that stops u from making drunk phone calls and text messages. I'm thinking something like a breathalyzer, which would require u to blow into your cell phone BEFORE your allowed to phone or text people. For example, lets say your going out to your roommate's birthday dinner and you know by 11pm you might be leaving "god, I wish I hadn't said that" voice mails on your Ex from Texas's cell phone or shamelessly text flirting with your roommate's friend you met at said roommate's birthday dinner after he leaves. The cell-breathalyer would engage at 10:45pm, thus preventing any morning regret. There should also be an option to disable. No one wants to blow into their cell phone at 2pm while at work. Other options would include:
  • settings which allow the user to call/text specific people (even if you've had one to many, aka bootie calls)
  • once user fails test, block incoming calls from specific people because you know you'll say something hurtful/desperate/untrue
  • hold text messages in que until the morning when user is sober and can react relationally
  • If user blood-alcohol is way over, phone would shut-down completely.
I think I may have something here....

Happy Birthday Wynn!!

Today is my roommates birthday. I have no idea how I lucked out that I met this kid via craigslist 2 months ago. Usually CL has nothing but crazies and sex addicts but somehow the stars aligned and we clicked (maybe because we are both crazy and sex addicts, but I digress). I love him because he is extremely outgoing, into sports and a very giving person. I had moved-in less then a week and he was already inviting me to hang out with him. A invite I desperately needed due to my recent breakup when all I wanted to do was shut myself up in my room. Something about having him and his friends around just made it easier for me.

Happy Birthday yo! I wish you all the success and happiness life has to offer - from Charlie to vegan ism and then some.

Ex-Boyfriends

My dinner with my Ex was very cool. Its was so good to see him and chat. He looks happy. I'm so proud of his many accomplishments and I know the future will bring many good things his way. He'll be in German for a gallery show and book signing first week in Aug (I know I have a few readers there -read:one- so email me for details). I also realized, I love him but I am no longer in love with him. He has a passion for what he does and thats where his focus has been for awhile. I'm just glad I got to be apart of the adventure but I'm also glad I got out when I did. It all goes back to us being on different paths. I look forward to seeing him again- you owe me dinner bitch!

And from one Ex to another. My Ex from Texas will be here in 8 days. We have been text flirting for the past month. Last time I saw him, I pushed him away, grabbed my suitcase and slammed his front door. I was a very dramatic 25 yr old. I've had no contact with him since until 2 months ago. He "heard" from a old friend of mine that Lucky and I were no more and wanted to see if I was ok (read: I'm coming to NYC in two months, want to hook up?). We've always had a very tumultuous relationship. I met him in June '01 two weeks before I was to move to NYC for good.
Those were the happiest and insane two weeks of my mid-20s life. The pics posted are from those two weeks- god we look so young! We tried the long distance thing for awhile but it just torn us apart. I had no plans of moving back, having just landed a 6 month musical tour and he was starting radiology school in Austin for the next 3 yrs.

Now I have no ties here. I'm single again and no longer performing. He's done with school and working in a hospital. I have no idea what it's going to happen when I see him. I'm hoping we will be just two friends catching up but our histories dictate otherwise. I'm open to having a weekend bf, I miss having someone to walk in the park with. Its just what happens after the weekend that concerns me.

We tied!

Last nights kickball game was awesome. We were down by two and then pulled a head in the 5th inning. Sadly the other team took a legal albeit "immoral" bunt kick and tied it up in the end. But what a game, I feel we all got better at catching and working together as a team. And compared to last weeks loss of 27 -1 , we did pretty damn good! My hip is pretty f*cked up from football during the afternoon and kickball at night, maybe its karma?

I have dinner with my ex tonight. I'm interested in hearing how his life is going. I'm still kinda holding my breath, wondering if its to soon, but we will see. We are meeting at Maryann's for some very strong cheap margaritas. Lord knows I'll need a few!

The Gay Version

My friend Clare forwarded me an email about a men's room mural with women's reaction to what they see at the urinal. I knew it was only a matter of time until the gay version came out. Last night at Barrage while I was getting drinks with Corey, I stumbled upon the gay one (my camera phone kinda sucks but u get the idea).

The Process, part III

Had a very relaxing weekend in the country. Did tons of shopping and spent most of the time in the hot tub. Also came away with a bit of clarification on the whole "dating as a drug" thing. If you've been reading this blog, you may have noticed I go on "dates" in all forms- alot. I'm a bit burnt out. What caused the burn out? Short story would be me meeting recruiter guy last night and then doing the walk of shame. I wouldn't say I'm done, I just need a break. Need to hold onto my center (thinking about that being my next tattoo, location: forehead). I dont want to date just to date. I really want to be excited about the person and I think that just takes time.

On a brighter note, I contacted my ex today. Asked if he'd like to get dinner this week to catch up. A olive branch, if you will. I think I'm ready to start our friendship. I'm done with the tears and I know there will always be a bit of sadness in my heart for us but I feel I'm ready for the next step, the friendship us. I'm not totally sure about me seeing him again, but I'll never know until I try.

Bonus- soapbox IM with blogger boy:
--------
me: I think thats were u built strength, the idea of, 'hey, I'm single and I can do anything I want, I'm not tied to a single person". u and I have been with the same person for almost 5 + years and we need to look at that now

Blogger Boy: yes!, it's great, it sucks but it's great!

me: just making positive choices in our lives. but thats the thing. it doesn't suck, that was part of our life that was beautiful and full. now we are on to the next chapter and we decide how it looks, how it feels. its kinda empowering when u stop to think about it
and scary as shit
--------

I just hope i can follow my own advise when its 2am on a Saturday night at the eagle :)
